Gobeklitepe Megalith

Göbeklitepe, a Neolithic archaeological wonder nestled in the Southeastern Anatolia Region of Turkey, showcases its ancient legacy dating back to approximately 9500 to at least 8000 BCE. During the Pre-Pottery Neolithic era, this site flourished with large circular structures adorned with colossal stone pillars, marking the earliest known megaliths worldwide.

These pillars, embellished with elaborate anthropomorphic features, attire, and sculpted reliefs portraying wild animals, provide archaeologists with invaluable insights into prehistoric religious customs and the unique iconography of that era.
